Sports Representatives Duties & Instructions

Thank you for volunteering to be a Sports/Activity Representative for the Ralston High School Booster Club.  We appreciate your willingness to help foster school spirit for your student's sport/activity.  We encourage you to take this opportunity to promote school spirit by supporting all RHS sports and activities.  The purpose of this letter is to help give you some guidelines as you progress through the year in this capacity.

The Booster Club membership meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at RHS, except for December. You are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting. At the meeting, you will be asked to report briefly on the sport/activity you represent. The reports are informal, but try to include information on the various team levels of your sport, such as freshmen, sophomore, reserves, junior varsity and/or varsity teams that exist. Other parents, the coaches or the athletes can help provide this information to you.

If your sport/activity has multiple Representatives, please work together on your activities and reports. All Reps are equal with each representative as important as any other. In addition to attending the monthly meeting, other duties of the Rep include, but are not limited to:

*Taking photos of team members and producing “Parent Pride” photo buttons for parents who are Booster Club Members. Training provided. Button maker & supplies will be kept at RHS. There will be a designated date and time to make your buttons. Parents expect these buttons so please get them done in a timely manner.

*Providing support to the coach and act as a liaison as needed.

*Calling other parents from your assigned sport to solicit help for club activities. *Helping with one of the club’s projects that are held throughout the year.

*Organize pre-game meals for the athletes and coaches ranging from meals at parent’s homes to tailgate parties-based on the coach’s preferences. Help the coaches organize the End of the Season Dinner.

*Provide goodie bags and/or notes of encouragement to team members and coaches before a game.

Make banners or posters to display at sporting events.

The things you can do to promote school spirit and inspire support of RHS athletic events are limitless. Feel free to start new traditions-student athletes and coaches will appreciate your support and enthusiasm.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact any Executive Board member listed below. We look forward to seeing you at the monthly meetings and at Sporting Events and Activities.
