They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, they're all together ooky, The Addams Family!  Looking for something fun to do this weekend?  Come check out the Ralston Performing Arts production of "The Addams Family".  Showtimes are today, and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm and a Sunday matinee at 2:00pm all here at the Ralston HS theatre.  Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors, box office opens 1/2 hour before showtime!
Happy Teen Read Week!  Ralston Readers Club attached book quotes and book recommendations to your lockers.  We hope you enjoy them!  Please check the other side. Some have a stamp and some have a sticker.  Bring them to the library to find out what you have won.  

Fashion Club will meet on Wednesday October 28th in A107 from 3:30pm - 4:30.  We will be watching an episode of Project Runway.  Come have a snack and enjoy some fashion drama.  Questions?  Ask Mrs. Krist. 

Culinary Club will meet on Friday October 30th in F102 from 3:30pm - 4:45pm.  We will be whipping up some spooky treats.  Anyone is welcome.  Questions?  Ask Mrs. Krist.

Are you interested in social justice issues? Are you a mature student with a capacity for excellent leadership skills? Attend this year's Creating Inclusive Communities Student Workshop on Wednesday, November 4th at UNO. Transportation and lunch will be provided for this all-day workshop. You will be excused from your classes for the day.
A Creating Inclusive Communities (CIC) Workshop is a powerful interactive human
relations program for those interested in gaining a greater awareness and deeper 
understanding of our diverse community. These highly interactive workshops help 
participants to gain both foundational and advanced understanding of several areas of difference including race, class, sex, ability, and more.
Participation is limited to 40 students. Email your name and why you'd like to attend the workshop to dene.oglesby@ralstonschools.com no later than Friday, October 30.
French Club: Come celebrate the spooky season with a scary French film about the catacombs! We will enjoy popcorn and drinks from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in A102 on Thursday, October 29. You must sign up in advance with Madame Oglesby in A102!
Stop by room A102 this WednesdayThursday, and Friday after school until 4:00 p.m. to help French Club plan and create our Parisian catacombs for Sweet Treat Night! Stay after school on Monday, October 26 between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. to help put the finishing touches on our spooky maze! Stay to handout candy for community service hours until 7:30 p.m. Joyeux Halloween!

Community Service Opportunity
Meadows Elementary needs volunteers to run game tables at Meadows' Math Game Night on Monday, November 9 from 6-7 p.m.  Be sure to bring your community service paperwork so we can help you take care of some of those hours.  Email Lisa Schroeder if interested. (lisa_schroeder@ralstonschools.org)
RHS DECA is doing the 2nd Annual Hoofin' It For Hunger event this Sunday.  We will meet in the teacher's parking lot at 1:00 p.m. and walk Ralston neighborhoods to collect food donations until 4 p.m.  It is supposed to be a beautiful day.  All students are welcome to come join us. This year's goal is 1,000 lbs. of food.  Community service forms must be filled out in advanced.  Stop in Mrs. Hinchcliff-Smith's room to get one and sign up.
Honey Sunday is the annual fall fundraiser for Ollie Webb Center, a local non-profit organization that helps individuals with developmental disabilities.  Volunteers help sell bottles of honey door-to-door, at a business, centers or places of worship.

Student Opportunity:
UNO's Peter Kiewit Institute Explore Innovation Day - Oct. 25, 12-3 p.m. at their campus on 1110 S. 67 St., Omaha.  You will enjoy faculty and student lab demonstrations, visit w/current students to learn about student organizations and tour the state-of-the-art facility.
Omaha Area College Fair - Sunday, Oct. 25, at UNO's Sapp Fieldhouse, 6001 Dodge St., from 1-4 p.m.  Take your barcodes and visit with college reps from schools throughout the U.S.A.
Better Business Bureau Video Contest - Open to grades 9-12. Students may participate in teams of 2-4 or enter individually.  1st prize=$500 + $500 to their school; 2nd place=$250 + $250 to their school.  Winners determined by how well their entry adheres to BBB's brand, expresses the theme "Start With Trust", the video's quality and how many times it's viewed on BBB's YouTube channel.  For complete details, click on the Student Video Contest icon on BBB's website:  bbbinc.org.
