The next DECA Meeting is today, Jan. 25th at 6:30 p.m. in Room A120.  State Conference packets will be handed out and conference study sessions will be determined.  Registration materials are due next week.  A $50 down payment will also be due for state by Feb. 2.  Please plan accordingly!  State dates are the second half of spring break March 17-19, 2016.

SENIORS:  Buy your tickets to the senior lock-in!  The lock-in is Friday, February 5 after the varsity boys basketball game until 1:30 A.M.  Buy your ticket from any senior class officer, Mrs. Honz in room B206, or Ms. Rowley in B220 by the end of the day on Wednesday, February 3.  No tickets will be sold at the door.  This event is for Ralston High School seniors only.  
If you signed up to volunteer for the debate tournament on February 6th, there will be a meeting on February 3rd immediately after school from 3:15-3:45 to discuss jobs and what time to show up. If you're still interested in getting community service hours, contact Mr. Garst and he will put you on a wait list. 

Attention Culinary Club members:  We will meet this Friday the 29th  after school until 5:00pm in F102.   We will be creating apple swan garnishes and other vegetable garnishes.  If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Krist. Bon Appetit. 
Friday, January 29 there will be a blood drive from 8:00am until 2:00pm.  The Red Cross is bringing two buses for the drive and they will be located in the front circle area.
Please note: there is an age limit. If you are 16 you will need to pick up a form and have your parent/ legal guardian sign giving you permission to donate. This must be turned in before the blood drive.  See Mrs. Ziegler in room G120 for this form, or if you have questions.

College/Career Center
Attention Juniors and Seniors:  Our next campus visit will be on Thursday, February 4th to Methodist and Clarkson Colleges.  Take this time to explore the opportunities provided by both these amazing schools.  You will meet in Lec. Room C at 8:00 for refreshments and instructions for the day.  The bus will leave at 8:30 and return to RHS at 3:00.  Sign up with Mrs. Barker in the Counseling Office.
Juniors - Please remind your parents to attend the Junior Parent Meeting tomorrow night at 5:30 in the theater.
Student Opportunities:  
Omaha World Herald Exploring Program - This will focus on the fun and varied work of a newspaper person and include tips on reporting and writing, photography and other elements of the business.  The six-session program meets weekly at the Omaha World Herald Bldg. at 1314 Douglas St. and begins on February 9, from 6-7:30 pm.  Contact Rick Ruggles at 402-444-1123. Program cost=$30
Creighton Pharmacy Exploring Program - If you are interested in a career in pharmacy, this program will introduce you to pharmacy as a possible career option through guest speakers, discussions with professional students and various hands-on learning experiences.  It is a 1-Day program on April 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Creighton University's Brandeis Hall, 24th & California. Program cost=$35 (includes lunch).  Space is limited, so sign up ASAP at www.omahaexploring.org.
College Fair - Thursday, Feb. 11; 4-7 p.m. at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, 2825 Y St., Omaha.  Reps from UNO, UNL, Kaplan, College of Saint Mary & more will be there.
Iowa Western Community College Dia del Exito Latino (Day of Excellence) will be held onThursday, March 31 at their campus.  This event will feature a keynote speaker as well as a panel of IWCC Student Services staff to answer questions and discuss campus resources.  A tour of campus and lunch are included.  Check in:  9:30; lunch: 12:00.  Deadline to register is March 18.  email: mnodskov@iwcc.edu or bmcqueen@iwss.edu.

GIRLS TRACK:  Pre-season conditioning is under way for girls not out for a winter sport!  Due to parent-teacher conferences tomorrow, conditioning for this week of January 25 will be today and Thursday.  Meet in room A211 at 3:35! Questions? See Coach Brockhaus or Coach Rasgorshek.
