Reminder for students: Beginning today the Late Start breakfasts will cost:
$2.50 for full pay students
30 cents for reduced lunch
free for free lunch
If you are a free or reduced lunch student, the program only covers ONE breakfast per day. If you get a free or reduced breakfast in the c-store before 8:00am you will be charged full price for another breakfast at the Late Start if you choose to take one.
Juniors: John Baylor Prep continues today during 5th period. The ACT group will meet in the theater, and the ACT-F group will meet in Lecture Room C. Please make sure you bring your booklets.
Students, this Wednesday is the Intro to Business Classes Cookie Sale before school. Come check out your classmates creations in the commons!
It's not to late to sign up for the Ralston Girls Softball Association recreation league. This league is fun and gives you the chance to make new life long friends. Even if you have never played before but want to start something new we have a spot open just for you. Please visit rgsa.org for more information by March 15, 2016.
This week is Teen Tech Week, and to celebrate Ralston HS has been selected as one of 30 schools nationwide to participate in a teen tech workshop on coding / web-making. This workshop will be taught by the Geek Squad from Best Buy and will be held from 3:30-4:30 this Thursday, March 10 in the Ralston HS Library. It's not too late to sign up, but hurry! SPANISH CLUB will meet THIS Wednesday, March 9 in A104 after school (3:30-4:30)! We will be celebrating a successful end of quarter with food and games! Think fun, fast and colorful!

During homeroom, donate your spare dollars and coins to the Make A Wish Foundation. Your homeroom could win free time in a bounce house on Thursday, March 10th and donuts on Friday, March 11th! Seniors: The RHS Combined Theatre scholarship is due to Mrs. Balus tomorrow.
Plan to attend the College Fair sponsored by EducationQuest on Sunday, March 20, at UNO's Sapp Fieldhouse from 1-3 p.m. To avoid filling out numerous info cards for colleges, register for a barcode at NebraskaCollegeFairs.org. Colleges represented include Nebraska schools, as well as those from numerous states throughout the U.S. Use this unique opportunity to help you make a decision about your educational future. Students should visit http://www.nebraskacollegefairs.org to get a barcode. If you are interested in attending and need transportation, sign up with Mrs. Barker in the Counseling office by Wednesday, March 9.
Attention seniors: Please be aware of a new scholarship that has just been added to Naviance, the Reid Adler Memorial scholarship, due March 31. Log into Naviance to find it and to apply for the other numerous scholarships that are still available.
Attention juniors and seniors: Here's one more chance to do a campus visit this school year. We will be going to both the Fort Omaha and South Omaha campuses of Metropolitan Community College on Thursday, March 31. You will meet in Lecture Room C at 8:00 a.m. for refreshments and instructions and board the bus at 8:30 for the Fort Omaha campus. Lunch will be provided at their Bistro. Next stop is the South Omaha campus. You will return to RHS at 3:00.
Sign up in the Counseling office with Mrs. Barker and pick up a permission form. Permission forms are due back no later than Thursday, March 24.
The College of Education and Human Sciences at UNL is sponsoring a summer Chinese Language, Culture and Technology Academy from July 10-24, 2016. The Academy is open to current high school students who are interested in language learning, who will have completed 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade as of May, 2016, and who have no or very little knowledge of the Chinese language.
All expenses are covered by the program (housing, meals, iPad access, supplies).
The deadline for applications is April 15th, and the program will accept 20 student-participants. Interested students should see Mrs. Balus in the College/Career Center.
