The War Against Blood Cancer: This reporter has learned that the hoped for cease-fire expected April 14th did not occur! Continue your war through Friday April 16th! All of your "ammunition" needs to be taken to the office where it will be counted! Be sure that your home room name is on your box!
Summer School information is now available in the main office as well as in the counseling department.
Reports are coming in! Mrs. Krist's homeroom has reported in $3.66 in PENNIES - that's 366 points. This reporter is wondering if the Lower A wing front could be in the lead in the battle against blood cancer. Here in the M*A*S*H unit G120 we had 144 points but were hit with enemy fire losing 15 points! We are down to 129 points.
SENIORS: In homeroom yesterday you should have received a copy of the reservation form for the Senior Banquet. If you didn't, please ask your HR teacher for a copy tomorrow. See Ms. Rowley if you have any questions.
What is racism? Want to help break racial stereotypes? Join us for an educational and respectful discussion on race and racism in our school and our community. Students and staff welcome to attend. Monday, April 20th in Ms. Weland's room B120 from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Snacks provided! Sponsored by F.A.I.R.
It's National Library Week! To celebrate, RHS Readers Book Club and the Advanced Woods and Construction class with Mr. Fugleberg, are pleased to announce that RHS is host to the first Little Free Library in Ralston. Check out the Little Free Library in the front of the school next to Door 31. We have books for all ages...picture books to adult. Take a book; Return a book.
RHS Readers Book Club will meet this Friday, April 17th during all three lunch periods. Stop by if you need a pass. See you there!
Prom tickets are now on sale, during all 3 lunches in the cafeteria. Tickets can also be purchased with Mr. Uhrmacher in room D112. Tickets for this years prom are $25 and that includes your entry into Post Prom as well. You must buy tickets before Prom as they will NOT be sold at the door.
Outside Date forms for Prom are now available in the Main Office. These forms must be turned into the office by this Thursday, April 16th.
The John Baylor Prep organization has invited our students to participate, free of charge, in the live review session at Millard West April 23rd from 6:30-8:30 in Room #164. Students should take their review binders with them to the sessions.
Juniors will take their ACT test on Tuesday, April 28, beginning promptly at 8:00am. To do their best, students are encouraged to get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast (free for Juniors in the cafeteria with their student ID), and arrive a little early so they find their test site without having to rush. Also, please note that all students will be required to either leave electronics at home or check them in prior to entering their test room. This is a standard procedure from ACT that RHS must honor. Students will have an open campus lunch period following the test (lunch will still be available at RHS), followed by a shortened class schedule beginning again at 1:00.
Attention College Possible SOPHOMORES! We will be having our MANDATORY new student meeting on Thursday April 16th during homeroom. This meeting will be held in the back of the library. Please come straight to the library at the beginning of homeroom.
Registration for the Summer session of Driver's Education will be May 5th and 6th from 7:00pm - 8:00pm in the commons area. Registration forms with more information are now available in the main office.
The Swimming Competency Test will be administered by Mr. Hartfield on Saturday, April 18 at 11:45am or Saturday, April 25 at 11:45am at the RHS swimming pool.
Students MUST contact the high school office to pre-register for ONE of those two options. There is no advance instruction to prepare and no instruction will be given during the test. Students should plan to be in the pool for 45 minutes to one hour to complete the testing.
Reminder, upon passing this test you will have the swimming designation waived from your PE credit requirements only NOT the actual 2.5 credit hours. You must still take 20 credit hours of PE.
