Reminder for College Possible Students:  This class does not start until Sept. 2nd (after Labor Day).

RHS Readers Book Club meets today during all three lunches in the back of the Library.  Get a pass from Ms. Olsen if you want to bring your lunch from the cafeteria.
Dress Code
Students are reminded that the dress code will be enforced.  Shorts and skirts should be fingertip length and shirts with spaghetti straps, tank tops,  or those which are strapless, halters, low cut, or expose mid-riff or undergarments are not acceptable.  Please refer to your student handbook for any questions.
Students and parents, we appreciate your help in this matter.

Any students interested in Quiz Bowl, come to B121 right after school on Tuesday, August 19th for an informational meeting. If you cannot attend, please see Ms. Hartman. 
There will be a Social today(8/15) during homeroom for all Newcomers to Ralston Public Schools. Students will need to report to their HR and teachers will dismiss those students to the cafeteria. If any student didn't receive an Invitation please talk with your HR teacher and come down to the cafeteria after attendance is taken. 

Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors:  the 2014 Outdoor Ed Student Counselor Applications are now available in the main office!  These applications must be turned in by Friday, August 29th!

Math Club Informational Meeting on Tuesday August 19th from 3:20 - 3:45 in Room A210.
Stop by to learn about Math Club and decide if you would like to join!  The first math contest is only a few weeks away!  Come on!  It’s hip to B2!

LATINO LEADERSHIP COUNCIL will hold first meeting on Wednesday, August 20th, in the Media Center at 3:30 p.m.  Come for refreshments and sign up for committees.
Fall Driver Education will be September 6th though November 1st.  Registration will be held in the commons on Tuesday, August 26th and Wednesday August 27th from 7:00 - 8:00pm.  Registration forms with more information are now available in the office.

Hey RHS need a clean car??  The DANCE TEAM will be having a car wash at Don & Millies, 84th & Q on Saturday, August 23rd from 11 to 2? They will also get back 20% if you eat there and mention RHS Dance.  Thank you for your support!
Become a Student Athletic Trainer! 
Be involved in RHS athletics, earn service hours, learn about a medical profession, have fun, and meet new people. Must be able to commit to working football practices after school and all varsity games. Duties will include basic taping and wound care, practice/event preparation, and attending RHS practices and events as scheduled.

Students, you can order your rowdy t-shirts on line by clicking on the link provided at the end of this message.  You order online and pay online.  If you do this before Monday the 18th,  you can get your shirt before the first football game!  In addition, the AD office will be giving away two $25 gift certificates and one $50 gift certificate to high school students at the first football game.  You must fill out an entry form at the gate and be wearing a new rowdy t-shirt to qualify.  You must also be present at the end of the third quarter when the drawing takes place.

Job Opportunity:
Panchito's Bakery is seeking a part-time bilingual student for their panaderia.  No experience is necessary; training will be provided. Must be able to work after school up to 20 hours per week. Apply in person at 9537 Q Street; their phone number is 402-504-9757.
Senior poster pictures for the gym will be taken on August 22nd.  if you are a senior athlete, band member, or a member of cheer or dance, you need to have your uniform top on for the picture during homeroom on the 22nd.  Contact the coach of the sport you want to be pictured for and secure a jersey.  Don't forget - Friday, August 22nd during homeroom. 

Attention all girls interested in playing volleyball: Tryouts begin on Monday, August 18th after school in the gym. You must have a physical to tryout. Questions?  Talk to Coach Lindeman or Coach Brehm.

LADIES GOLFERS: Please see Coach Kosch ASAP in Room A119 if you're interested in playing for the Ralston-Mercy girls golf team. Practice started this past Monday but it isn't too late quite yet but will be very soon!!! You must have a physical completed and on record too.

Official Tardy Program begins.  Students who are late to class must check in at a Tardy Station to receive a pass to class.
