Mary Torczon

Hello My Name Is...

Mary Torczon

Mary Torczon

My name is Mary Torczon, and I am the high school Resource Teacher for the Suburban Schools’ Program for Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.  My experiences working with children who have a hearing loss include teaching at the Nebraska School for the Deaf, as well as teaching in mainstreamed and self-contained settings.  The communication modalities seen in my classroom include: oral, signing, total communication, and everything in between!   I’m proud to be part of the Deaf Education program here at Ralston High School.  We offer students a unique experience, based on their individual needs, that support their social, emotional, and academic growth.  The exceptional teaching and interpreting staff here at Ralston High School strive to help students achieve excellence!  One of my greatest pleasures is seeing my students grow into confident young men and women ready to take on today’s competitive world.  It is my personal goal to help each child reach their highest potential and realize their gifts and talents that make them such a unique and valued member of our society.

On a more personal note, I am a wife and mother of four.  My husband and I recently relocated from the city to the country.  Even though I miss the hustle and bustle of city life, I’m learning to love the quiet serenity of country living.  I know what a blessing family is, and I’m honored to have the pleasure of working with yours.  Please feel free to e-mail me at any time: mary_torczon@ralstonschools.org.
